Bishop Stanley “Terry” Goodlow is a dynamic Pastor of the Church Of The Living God.  He was called into the ministry May 1972, under the leadership of Bishop Luke Nichols, in Omaha, Nebraska at Temple 33.  Bishop Goodlow has served in several positions in the Church Of The Living God locally, district wide, and nationally over the past 52 years. 

Early in his ministry, he observed that there was no training in leadership for new or experienced ministers in the church.  As a young minister himself, no one in authority would listen to him.  He attended a couple of theological schools, but none of them offered any leadership courses.

Bishop Goodlow was hired at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1978. As a manager for over twenty-five years, he received yearly training and develop in leadership.  He noticed that the skills learned in corporate America also worked in the church.  He was amazed that corporate America invested in its leadership team yearly, but the church invested nothing.

After being appointed overseer, once again Bishop Goodlow inquired about training for overseers.  There was none.  However, he was very grateful for the mentorship of his pastor Bishop Luke Nichols and his Bishop Earl L. Bowie as his presiding bishop for eight years.  Yet, the church still did not develop any training for leaders at any level.  After being elected to the office of Bishop, you guessed it, no training.    Even Jesus spent almost three years training and mentoring his apostles before sending them into the world.

After experiencing a heart attack in 2011, God gave Bishop Goodlow a passion for training and developing leaders in the tenth district.  He held the first leadership conference the following year at Temple 145, in Dallas, Texas.  Thereafter, he has held a pastors and leaders conference the first Friday evening and Saturday of November.  However, that was not enough.  His passion would not allow him to settle for that.

In July 2017 Bishop Goodlow joined the John Maxwell Leadership Certified Team and became an independent certified coach, teacher, trainer, speaker, and mentor with the John Maxwell Leadership Team.  After becoming certified, he began offering leadership courses to whoever wanted the training.  He was not concerned with the level of leadership a person was at, he knew the training would help at any level.

As he continues to grow, his passion for developing leaders and helping them reach their full potential has only increased.  His purpose is to preach and teach the word of God, help transform lives into the image of Christ, train the saints for ministry, and build up the body of Christ through inspired  training, speaking, teaching, mentoring, and coaching.  His only requirement is that those who enroll in any of his classes must want to grow.  And yes, they must be willing to invest in themselves.  Bishop says, “if you’re not willing to invest in yourself, why should I invest in you.”
